Although using your own hardware means you don’t have to pay a premium for commodity hardware and you get precisely the feature set that you want, reducing cost is only one of many benefits of using WarLock DR. Because WarLock precision loads only the code it needs to perform selected functions, it can run on most Intel, AMD, and VIA systems that meet the minimum hardware specifications. It should be (nearly) impossible to find a new system that does not meet, or substantially exceed, the performance requirements.
Most importantly, with WarLock DR, hardware failure DOES NOT affect data integrity anywhere in the network because every transaction is independent. Files being backed up by the Initiator are only read, never opened, and files once written to the Collector are never modified again. The worst case is that the file being transmitted at the instant a failure occurs would not complete the transit. The only impact would be that delta changes are not transmitted during the period the hardware is being replaced; and once back on-line, WarLock DR will pick right up where it left off and simply trasmit those delta changes until it catches up. Critically, WarLock DR DOES NOT have to rebuild after being offline. |
