Multi-Home / Many Initiators to one Collector

Good for Small Offices Rolling Up to Headquarters

Multi-Homing simply describes one Collector in a Simplex relationship with multiple downstream Initiators. The objective of this solution is to bring the files from distributed sites together at one, or more, central points.

As shown in the diagram below, many Initiators (there is no set limit) send their delta file changes to the single Collector at D. Then, every site’s files, still in their original directory structure, can be backed up to tape as frequently as desired.

Typically, a Multi-Home implementation aligns nicely with the slower connections provided at branch offices. WarLock DR also provides the option of limiting bandwidth consumption on every job independently which makes it ideal for “data trickle” applications; even over satellite.
