Step 2 - Test your hardware connection to the Internet
Just boot with the WarLock media and see what it says
Once you have a bootable copy of WarLock in hand and hardware that meets, or exceeds, the hardware specifications, then perform the checks below
To Start :
The system(s) you want to test must be connected to an Ethernet LAN which must have access to a broadband (cable, DSL, T1) connection to the Internet.
Optional :
You may elect to test the various hardware platforms from a single location if you are confident of broadband access and LAN availability at all of the other sites.
Test 2 :
With either the WarLock CD-ROM or USB key inserted, power cycle the hardware and wait for about 30 seconds.
Test 3 :
WarLock will guide you through step by step through the process. The only information you may need to provide is:
- The default gateway for your network
(for example 192.168.1.1)
- An unused IP address for this system
(for example 192.168.1.2)
- The netmask for your network
(for example 255.255.255.0)
- Your primary DNS server
(for example 54.122.11.73)
Then just press enter and wait for about 30 seconds
Test 4 :
The screen will tell you if your hardware is able to communicate with the Internet.
In the unlikely event that it does not report success:
- try again after reviewing the instructions on the troubleshooting screen, or
- try another piece of hardware
Once your hardware is connecting to the Internet, go to Step 3, schedule install.
